Backglow
While having diner at the Pelican's Nest we were treated to a view to the west of one of those fiery, technicolor sunsets. The type that are great for photographers but which painters should avoid for fear of being accused of exaggeration. Instead looking to the east the tops of the approaching storm clouds were lit up by the backglow. As we finished our meal and were leaving the table the first rain drops started to fall. In all a very successful meal, good views, good food, good timing and a good subject for a painting.
